ಕನ್ನಡ ವರ್ಣಮಾಲೆ: ವರ್ಣಮಾಲೆ :     ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯ ವರ್ಣಮಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 49 ಅಕ್ಷರಗಳಿವೆ. ವರ್ಣಮಾಲೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವರಗಳು , ವ್ಯಂಜನಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಗವಾಹಕಗಳೆಂದು ವಿಂಗಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಸ್ವರಗಳು :     ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರವಾಗಿ ಉಚ್ಚರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ಅಕ್ಷರಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವರಗಳು ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಉದಾ: ಅ ಆ ಇ ಈ ಉ ಊ ಋ ಎ ಏ ಐ ಒ ಓ ಔ. ಒಟ್ಟು ಸ್ವರಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 13 . ಸ್ವರಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಹ್ರಸ್ವ ಸ್ವರ , ದೀರ್ಘ ಸ್ವರ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ಲುತ ಸ್ವರವೆಂದು ಮೂರು ವಿಧಗಳಾಗಿ ವಿಂಗಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಹ್ರಸ್ವ ಸ್ವರ :     ಒಂದು ಮಾತ್ರೆಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಚ್ಚರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ಅಕ್ಷರಗಳಿಗೆ ಹ್ರಸ್ವಸ್ವರ ಅಕ್ಷರಗಳು        ಎನ್ನಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ . ಒಟ್ಟು ಆರು ಹ್ರಸ್ವ ಸ್ವರಗಳಿವೆ. ಉದಾ: ಅ ಇ ಉ ಋ ಎ ಒ . ದೀರ್ಘ ಸ್ವರ :       ಎರಡು ಮಾತ್ರೆಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಚ್ಚರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ಅಕ್ಷರಗಳಿಗೆ ದೀರ್ಘ ಸ್ವರ ಎಂದು     ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುವುದು . ಒಟ್ಟು 7 ದೀರ್ಘಸ್ವರಗಳಿವೆ. ಉದಾ: ಆ ಈ ಊ ಏ ಓ ಐ ಔ ಪ್ಲುತ ಸ್ವರ : ಮೂರು ಮಾತ್ರೆಗಳ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಚ್ಚರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ಅಕ್ಷರಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ಲುತ ಸ್ವರ ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಬೇರೆಯವರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯುವಾಗ ಪ್ಲುತ ಸ್ವರಗಳು ಬರುತ್ತವೆ. ಉದಾ: ಅಮ್ಮಾ, ಅಕ್ಕಾ  ಸಂಧ್ಯಾಕ್ಷರಗಳು :    ...
